Kristen Stewart fans have a new film to look forward to. Following rumors and speculation for months, Universal has confirmed that Stewart will return for its Snow White and the Huntsman sequel.

Universal chairman Adam Fogelson confirmed the news in Las Vegas, Nevada at CinemaCon yesterday. Questions about her involvement had risen in light of her affair with director Rupert Saunders during the time the first film was shot. We’ve known for some time that Saunders would not return.

Last year Stewart was speaking about the project but insisted she couldn’t say much because the studio asked her to stay quiet. Nonetheless, she was very excited about the sequel. The original film received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.

Yesterday, Universal confirmed that Snow White and the Huntsman 2 would hit theaters in 2015. The studio added that Pitch Perfect 2 will open in theaters the same year.

Stewart has had a quiet film career since The Twilight Saga wrapped last year. The final film in the series, Breaking Dawn – Part 2, was released this past November. She is currently attached to two other films besides Snow White: Focus and The Big Shoe.

Are you happy to see that Stewart will be returning to the Snow White world? There’s no word yet whether co-star Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role.
