Television stars Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are now married, according to TMZ.

The Hollywood power couple were married in a simple ceremony at the Beverly Hills County Clerk Office on Thursday. When the two arrived they planned on simply signing the paper and calling it a day, but a worker there offered to do a small ceremony which they then agreed to in a courtroom.

The report says that a hired photographer was on the scene to capture the moment for Bell and Shepard, and the former was crying as they said their I Do’s.

During interviews over the past couple years, the stars have said they wouldn’t marry until homosexual couples had equal marriage rights. In June when the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (thus paving the way for gay couples to be recognized by the government) and California’s Proposition 8, Bell proposed to Shepard on Twitter:

Bell is best known for her role in the Veronica Mars television show. A movie adaptation of the cult classic will be released in early 2014 thanks to a Kickstarter organized by Bell and series creator Rob Thomas. Shepard currently stars on NBC’s Parenthood. The two have been dating since 2008 and had baby daughter Lincoln in March of this year. He reportedly makes a cameo in his wife’s Mars movie.

Congrats to the happy couple! Thanks, TMZ.
