Casting on Knives Out 2 is heating up and adding even more star power to its ranks!

Update (5/21/21): According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Kate Hudson is the newest Hollywood A-lister to sign on to star opposite Daniel Craig in the whodunit sequel.

Hudson’s casting comes hot on the heels of word that Hamilton vet Leslie Odom Jr. and WandaVision star Kathryn Hahn have also both signed on to star in the highly anticipated murder mystery.

Behind the camera, Knives Out 2 will once again be written and directed by Rian Johnson, who’s lined up a pretty impressive cast for the second movie.

Update (5/12/2020): According to Variety, Janelle Monáe is the latest notable name to join the cast of Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated sequel, Knives Out 2.

Word of the Grammy Award nominated artist’s involvement in the sequel comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s news that actors Edward Norton and Dave Bautista have also joined the cast of Knives Out 2.

Monáe’s involvement marks the artist’s latest role in a major motion picture release. Previously, she’s starred in critically acclaimed titles such as Moonlight, Hidden Figures and Harriet.

Most recently, she starred in director Gerard Bush’s horror drama, Antebellum, which debuted in September 2020.

Monáe isn’t the only notable name set to star in the highly anticipated sequel.

Her casting comes just 24 hours following news that actors Edward Norton and Dave Bautista have also both joined the cast of the sequel.

Specific details with regards to who Monáe, Norton, and Bautista will play are being kept close to the chest for the time being. Similarly, plot details for the sequel are also being kept firmly under the wraps.

All three join Daniel Craig, who has already signed on to return to reprise his role as Benoit Blanc for the second installment of the burgeoning franchise.

Also returning is Rian Johnson, who will once again serve as director on the sequel in add-on to penning the script. Johnson will also act as a producer along with partner, Ram Bergman.

Both the second and third installments of the Academy Award nominated murder mystery franchise are set to debut via Netflix, though there’s currently no word on when we might expect to see them premiere via the online streaming giant.

Knives Out 2 is set to begin production later on this summer in Greece.
