Could you see Kit Harington starring in Harry Potter? In a new interview, Harington talks about that and working on Game of Thrones, previewing the “blood, guts and sex” we can expect in season 2. Beware of mild spoilers.

Speaking to CNN, Harington admits that he doesn’t consider himself a big name on the British acting scene because he never starred in Harry Potter! He also says:

I kind of wanted to audition for ‘Harry’ when it was first being done but I think I was a year too old.

Imagine that, Kit Harington as Harry. But then he probably wouldn’t have got to play Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, and that would have been a shame. Of the second season, Harington teases:

You can expect the world we’re in to break apart in a way. Everything we’ve established in this world, this world disintegrates around us. But it’s very much in the vein of where we left it. It gets more brutal I guess, more blood and guts and more sex.

Harington also talks about preparing for the role and admits that he doesn’t wash his hair in order to get a more realistic, grimy look for his character. It’s not all fame and glory working on Game of Thrones, the actor explains:

The sets reek. I remember for season one there was a gutted deer carcass they brought on and this wasn’t a fake prosthetic deer carcass and by the end of the day it had started to ferment and the smell coming off it was unreal. On any day on the set you’ve got horse s***, oh sorry — pardon — and it can be quite a disgraceful place to be.
