We may finally have a firm answer about the fate of Kit Harington’s Jon Snow in Game of Thrones season 6.

Belgian magazine Humo spoke to Kit Harington this week and naturally asked him about Jon Snow. Is he freakin’ dead or alive?! The question has been gripping fans because the most recent book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series ended at the same point as Thrones season 5.

For the first time in Thrones history, we don’t know what the future holds.

Luckily we may have one answer today. When asked by Humo about Jon Snow, Kit provided a very interesting answer.

Kit: The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime-

Interviewer: How many more seasons would that be?

Kit: Nice try (laughs). I can’t talk about that. Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects (laughs).

Kit, who’s 28, tried to not “talk about that,” but he — perhaps inadvertently — said all he needed to say. Unless he’s referring to his general association with the show, it’s pretty clear he’s just confirmed his involvement with Thrones for the foreseeable future.

These comments are a big deal, because they’re the first time Kit is talking about his character’s fate. With that said, the news that Jon Snow is alive isn’t completely surprising: The actor was spotted over the summer arriving at an airport very close to Game of Thrones season 6 filming.

Kit’s comments mean HBO President Michael Lombardo is a big filthy liar. “Dead is dead is dead,” said Lombardo in July of Jon Snow’s fate. “Everything I’ve seen heard and read…yes [he’s dead].”

Now everyone stop asking Kit about Jon Snow until after the season 6 premiere this spring. Okay?
