In a recent Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced a new Kirby game for Wii, titled Kirby’s 20th Anniversary Collection, to celebrate 20 years of Kirby goodness since his first appearance on Game Boy.

Details are scarce, but it has already been announced that this title will contain a group of best-selling, past Kirby games, sounding similar to Super Mario All-Stars, the 25th Anniversary Edition (which included the first three Super Mario games, as well as the Lost Levels).

The Mario Anniversary package also came with memorabilia in the form of a history booklet and soundtrack, but nothing similar has been confirmed for Kirby’s Anniversary.

While it was confirmed during the Japanese conference, the official Twitter account was later updated with a release for North America as well. No date was specified for either Japan or North America.
