Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes are teaming up for a brand new limited series coming down the pipeline at Netflix.

On Wednesday (December 9), Netflix announced that actors Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes would officially be starring in a brand new fictional, limited series event written and executive produced by Narcos and Narcos: Mexico showrunner Eric Newman.

Titled True Story, the upcoming limited series focuses on Kid (Hart) and his older brother, Carlton (Snipes) and what transpires during a tour stop in Kid’s hometown.

What should be a routine stop for Kid in Philadelphia suddenly becomes a matter of life and death for one of the world’s most famous comedians when the consequences of a lost evening with his wayward older brother threaten to destroy everything he’s built.

The forthcoming series doubles as Hart’s dramatic series debut. In addition to starring alongside Snipes in the limited series, Hart will also serve as a producer through his Heartbeats Productions banner.

In a statement announcing the actors’ involvement in the project, Newman said: “Kevin Hart’s career is one defined by courageous creative risks and Wesley Snipes is a legendary talent – together they are truly a dream team. I am absolutely thrilled to be working with these two. As always, I am grateful to Netflix for their continued support, as well as to Charles Murray, Stephen Williams, and Hanelle Culpepper for their creative partnership.”

Others involved with True Story behind the scenes include Luke Cage and Sons of Anarchy vet, Charles Murray, who will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see True Story debut via Netflix.
