Comedian Kevin Hart is in negotiations to play an iconic role in Disney’s upcoming holiday-themed film, Dashing Through the Snow.

Much like his Central Intelligence and Jumanji co-star The Rock, Kevin Hart seems to be everywhere these days. Whether its comedy, television, or film, the Ride Along star has got plenty of projects to keep him busy over the next few years.

Variety is also now reporting that Hart is eyeing something new on the horizon — a starring role in an upcoming Disney film.

The film is, in a turn of events unheard of in Hollywood as of late, an original concept. It’s a Christmas miracle!

Scott Rosenberg came up with the idea and Rob Burnett will be writing the script. Will Packer and John Jacobs are producing, but no director has been selected just yet.

According to the report, “The story follows a New York City detective who has a strained relationship with his son. The only thing that may be able to repair the father-son relationship is the one true Santa Claus who has to make the man believe in Christmas magic.”

Diversity in Hollywood will always be an issue, but lately things seem to be taking a better turn. We recently saw Storm Reid cast as Meg in the A Wrinkle in Time adaptation, as well as news that Amandla Stenberg will be starring as Ruby in the Darkest Minds adaptation, to just name a few.

There’s still a lot further to go, but seeing Kevin Hart portraying Santa in a Disney movie is a great place to begin. Here’s to hoping negotiations go through.
