Dreams really do come true. Kevin Bacon will return to Perfection as Valentine McKee in a Tremors television series.

EW reports that Bacon will not only star in but also produce the Tremors television series, which is currently still being shopped around to find the right network for the project.

Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Productions will be developing the series, though this isn’t the first time the franchise has been associated with the small screen. Four other movies flesh out the big screen lineup, and Tremors: The Series hit the SciFi Channel back in 2003.

The big news here, however, is the fact that Bacon has returned to the franchise after having only starred in the initial movie in 1990. He will indeed be reprising his role as Val, and they will definitely be returning to Perfection, Nevada, where it all began.

EW reports that multiple bidders are interested in the project, no doubt because of Bacon’s involvement. His schedule has freed up a bit recently, after The Following was canceled before its fourth season.

Though Bacon’s career was launched well before he did Tremors, the franchise certainly benefited from his star power, as it has now become a cult classic. Fans have been clamoring for Bacon to come back to the series for decades, and it’s exciting that we now have the chance to see that happen.

Of course, this all depends on if a network will pick up the Tremors television show. Considering the star power, the franchise’s cult following, the lack of expensive CGI, and the interest in genre shows as of late, we’d be surprised if someone didn’t at least give it a shot.

Now the real question is whether we can expect Michael Gross to reprise his role as Burt Gummer. Considering he’s been in every other iteration of this series, it stands to reason he’ll show up, too.
