Back in June 2017, SyFy ordered a pilot of the Kevin Bacon-led Tremors series. Now, the channel has decided not to move forward with the project.

Kevin Bacon announced the news via his Instagram on Saturday.

“Sad to report that my dream of revisiting the world of Perfection will not become a reality,” Bacon wrote in his post. “Although we made a fantastic pilot (IMHO) the network has decided not to move forward. Thanks to our killer cast and everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard. And always keep one eye out for GRABOIDS!”

Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Productions developed the series, with Andrew Miller (The Secret Circle) writing the script, as well as serving as showrunner and producer.

The series was set to take place 25 years after the original Tremors movie. Bacon was slated to reprise his role as Valentine McKee, and save Perfection, Nevada from another invasion by the Graboid worms.

There was no news on whether Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Productions would be shopping the pilot to other networks at this time.
