Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson will expand her television career when she appears on an upcoming episode of Nashville season 2.

TV Line has learned that Clarkson will appear in an episode of Nashville during which she’ll perform one of the show’s songs.

Said showrunner Dee Johnson to the website, “As you recall, one of the most popular songs of last season is a song that Gunnar and Scarlett wrote – ‘Fade Into You,’ and in fact, in real life, [Clarkson is] actually cutting that song.”

Clarkson will appear on Nashville season 2, episode 11, which airs this January on ABC.

Meanwhile, Nashville wraps up its first half of the season this evening at 10 p.m. eastern with the midseason finale.

The singer isn’t a total stranger to television. Earlier this year she had a role on CBS’s half-hour sitcom The Crazy Ones, starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Clarkson recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child after marrying Brandon Blackstock in October.

She recently released a Christmas album titled Wrapped in Red featuring covers of holiday classics and a few new songs. She got her start thanks to American Idol season 1 and is arguably one of the show’s most successful winners.

Thanks, TV Line.
