Katherine McPhee took to Twitter to poke fun at her former NBC show, Smash, that was canceled after two seasons, using the internet’s most powerful tool: the meme.

Chances are, by now your Twitter feed is flooded with posts using the “if you don’t love me at my ____, you don’t deserve me at my _____” meme. And while we’re all probably getting a little sick of the onslaught of those posts, actress and singer Katherine McPhee might have just released the end-all-be-all of that meme to throw a bit of shade at Smash.

Okay, so maybe Smash had some problems, but it was a pretty fun show, especially for musical theater fans. And even though it only lasted two seasons on NBC (the first season being arguably a great deal better than the first), there are still loads of Smash stans who bemoan the show’s cancellation and still rock out to the show’s soundtrack.

But McPhee wasn’t above poking fun at herself or her former show. And with her real-life Broadway debut starting on April 10, it makes sense that she’d be making a comparison with her Smash character’s tumultuous rise to stardom on the Great White Way.

McPhee will be heading to Broadway to star as the lead role, Jenna, in the hit musical Waitress. And even though we loved Smash, Waitress is based on the 2007 film starring Keri Russell with score by Sara Bareilles. Regardless of how many times we belt out “Let Me Be Your Star” in our cars, this is a huge step up in the musical world for McPhee.

But let’s be honest, even though we’re super excited for Katherine McPhee to rock the stage in Waitress, and even though this meme is pretty hilarious, we’ll still always have love for Smash.
