Katherine Langford just dished some very interesting details with regards to Hannah Baker’s return in 13 Reasons Why season 2.

When Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why first burst on to the scene, viewers were introduced to Hannah Baker, a teenage girl who had chosen to take her life but left behind a series of 13 tapes dedicated to the 13 individuals who played a part in her decision to commit suicide.

Hannah Baker’s tapes might be over, but her role in the story of those she left behind is far from wrapped up.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Katherine Langford teased what we we’ll see when new episodes of 13 Reasons Why hit Netflix.

“It’s a different story than season 1 and I think that’s a good thing,” said the Golden Globe nominee. “This season we get to explore a lot more of the other characters and their journeys, which I’m excited about. As sad as it is, there is life after Hannah, and this seasons we get to see the effects it had on the people around her a lot more.

Langford also left fans with one very interesting tidbit with regards to what we can expect from Hannah come seasons 2.

“You see a very different Hannah in season 2. I would prepare fans not to expect the Hannah from season 1 for a multitude of reasons,” teased Langford.

The idea of being introduced to a different Hannah is very interesting—especially considering we learned so much about her and the journey she went through in the first season.

Then again, one thing we do know about the second season is that we’ll be getting a feel for how the rest of the characters are fairing in the aftermaths of Hannah’s death, and with living with the knowledge that they played a part in the way her life ended.

With that being the case, perhaps season 2 will give us a better feel for how everyone else saw Hannah while she was still alive. If we end up seeing her through that lens, the idea of a different Hannah totally makes sense.

13 Reasons Why season 2 is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2018.
