Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan are set to share the big screen together in an upcoming period romance drama.

According to Deadline, Academy Award-winner Kate Winslet and Academy Award-nominee Saoirse Ronan have both signed on to star in director Francis Lee’s Ammonite.

The God’s Own Country helmer’s film is set in the 1840s in a coastal town in the United Kingdom. The film focuses on an unlikely romance that blooms between a paleontologist named Mary Anning and a London woman of means. Sparks between the two start flying when Mary finds herself having to unexpectedly play nursemaid to the Londoner.

One thing the casting announcement did not specify is which actress would assume which role in the upcoming film.

Others involved behind the scenes with the project include Iain Canning and Emile Sherman, who have previously worked on Widows and Lion, respectively.

Canning and Sherman will be serving as producers on Ammonite alongside Lady Macbeth’s Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly.

Production on Ammonite is set to start next year in March. There’s currently no word on when the upcoming period drama will be hitting the big screen.

Up next, Winslet fans can catch the actress reuniting with her Titanic director, James Cameron, on Avatar 2. The highly anticipated sequel is due out on December 18, 2020.

You won’t have to wait nearly as long to catch Ronan on the big screen. The Lady Bird vet’s latest film, Mary Queen of Scots, is out now in theaters.
