Created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and based on the novel by Kathleen Barber, the drama finds Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer starring as Poppy Scoville-Parnell— a podcaster who, in the first season of the series, feels compelled to reopen a murder case that made her a national sensation when new evidence crops up.

The decision leads her to come face-to-face with the man (Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul) she may have helped put behind bars.

For her part, Hudson will take on the role of lifestyle guru Micah Keith. Micah is a longtime friend of Poppy’s, though soon, the two women find themselves entangled in a new case that deeply involves the both of them, and ultimately puts their relationship as friends to the test.

Truth Be Told season 2 is set to begin production out in Los Angeles later this month on October 26.

Currently, there’s no word yet on when we might expect to see new episodes start airing on Apple TV+, though the plan is for the second season to debut sometime next year.
