Pop-rap duo Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan, better known to the world as Karmin, have finally opened up about their first full length album, Pulses, due out this September.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the pair talked about their reasoning behind their first full length album’s name.

Additionally, the pair gave fans a bit of insight as to what they can expect from the record itself, warning listeners that this debut record would show them a more serious side of Karmin they have yet to see.

“We wanted to call it Pulses because it’s kind of like the honeymoon is over now,” Noonan told Rolling Stone. “There’s good and bad. It’s not necessarily everything is happy-go-lucky tracks. There’s also some serious stuff. There’s definitely a lot more depth in it, which is something we’ve always felt we wanted to do.”

Frontwoman for the band, Amy Heidemann also spoke about the fact that producing a full length gave them the advantage of having the space to play around with their music more than they did with their previous release which was an EP of seven tracks.

Heidemann said that recording a full length gave them a lot more room to breate and said that there’s “a lot more of us” in this upcoming album.

Additionally, Noonan warned fans that Karmin’s first single off their forthcoming album, “Acapella” is not at all what you should expect the rest of Pulses to sound like.

“I don’t know if the whole sound of the album is done with 8o8– most of the tracks do have 8o8, but there are a couple four-to-the-floor tracks. The difference is for this one we had our band in for the whole session. They’re playing everything. I’m playing everything.”

This summer, Karmin is hitting the road with long time friends, The Jonas Brothers, for a selection of their tour dates. Check out Karmin’s official website to find out if the dynamic duo is coming to a town near you this summer!
