June 5
– Neil Young and Crazy Horse join forces for the first time in nine years with their latest album filled with American folk songs, Americana. Stream the full album at Rolling Stone.
– After 50 years of “Surfin’ Safari,” the Beach Boys reunite for an anniversary tour and a new album in That’s Why God Made the Radio, the band’s 30th studio album. Listen to “From There To Back Again,” the second single off the new album, here.
June 12
– Looking For Myself is Usher’s seventh studio album with “Climax” as its lead single. The singer debuted his newest tracks during a one-night off-Broadway stint as the Running Man in Fuerza Bruta.
– Metric, the Canadian indie rock band known for its contribution to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, returns with its fifth studio album, Synthetica. The band will tour Europe through June and July and returns to North America for Lollapalooza in August.
June 19
– Justin Bieber’s highly anticipated third studio album, Believe, makes its debut this summer with a little help from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Ludacris. The music video for the album’s first single, “Boyfriend,” broke YouTube records with more than eight million views in 24 hours. Watch it here.
– It might be one of the longest album titles of the summer, but Fiona Apple’s fourth album, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, is short compared to the title of her second album dubbed When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He’ll Win the Whole Thing Fore He Enters the Ring There’s No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You’ll Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won’t Matter, Cuz You Know That You’re Right. – The Smashing Pumpkins are back with Oceania – their ninth album and third since losing most of their original band members. They will perform in Chicago, Australia and New Zealand this summer.
June 26
– A decade since releasing their debut album Songs About Jane, Maroon 5 are fully embracing pop music with their fourth album, Overexposed, featuring the lead single “Payphone.”
– Linkin Park will follow up 2010’s A Thousand Suns with their fifth album, Living Things. The band performed the album’s first single, “Burn It Down,” during the Billboard Music Awards and released the music video last week. They will hit the road with Incubus in August.
