Justice League cast members have joined the throng of DC fans begging DC and Warner Bros. to release “the Snyder Cut” of Justice League.

It’s a good day to be a Justice League fan. After years of fan outcry for the release of the mysterious “Snyder Cut” of Justice League, it seems something big is about to happen.

Update: THR spoke with someone at WB, who told them that no official announcement is imminent. Could it true? Time will tell.

Original story: If you’re not quite sure what the deal with the Snyder cut is, here’s a quick-and-dirty refresher: when Justice League hit theaters, the expectations were huge, but the film didn’t perform as well as the studio had hoped. Many fans blamed it on the fact that a family tragedy caused Zack Snyder to step away from the film and Avengers director Joss Whedon to step in.

Fans felt that Whedon messed with Snyder’s original vision for the film and that somewhere in the vaults at the WB lay a version of Justice League untouched by Joss Whedon that would have totally lived up to fan expectations.

But for years, cries for the release of what would come to be known as “The Snyder Cut” were met with obstinance. Not only did people say the cut of the movie wouldn’t be released, fans were even told such a version of the film didn’t exist.

But now it seems something big might be happening as the stars of Justice League have begun to push for the release of the Snyder Cut. Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, and even Ben Affleck have all come out on their social media accounts with brief posts that don’t say much beyond #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

With the two year anniversary of Justice League coming up in March, it’s not surprising that DC has something in the works. However, with the big changes coming into the DC movies, namely Ben Affleck stepping down as Batman and Robert Pattinson taking on the role, it is surprising to see Affleck joining the fray of calls to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

So what is headed our way? At this point, no official announcements have been made so it’s unclear if this will be a new theatrical release or if the Snyder Cut will go directly blu-ray and digital download. Of course, with no official word from DC or Warner, it’s also possible the Justice League stars are prepping us for a wholly different announcement no one is expecting.

For now, we’ll just have to keep watching for an official word from the studio. We’ll keep you posted as more news breaks the future of the Snyder Cut of the Justice League.
