Today, we got our first look at Amber Heard as Mera, queen of Atlantis and wife to Aquaman, in her armored costume for Justice League.

Mera is a powerful warrior in the DC Universe, with advanced fighting skills, the ability to form objects with water, and super strength.

Now, thanks to IGN, we’ve gotten our first look at the queen of the sea, as portrayed by Heard in the live-action Justice League movie.

The full concept art, designed by Michael Wilkinson and illustrated by Ian Joyner, as pictured above, has also been released:

Her armor and crown make Mera look formidable, and the oceanic backdrop provides for a great scene behind her. The image doesn’t give any plot details away, but the costume will surely give fans plenty to talk about. The question is whether or not they’ll think it’s a good interpretation of her comic book armor for the movie.

We don’t know what kind of presence Mera will play in the upcoming Justice League movie, but she’ll be there in a supporting capacity, with a much bigger role promised for the solo Aquaman film.

When Heard was first cast as Mera, she talked about the fitting for her costume and the fact that it would be half suit of armor and half scales. We predicted it would have a darker look to it because, let’s face it, this is DC, and we weren’t disappointed.

The question now is what you think of Mera’s costume now that we’ve gotten a good look at it?

‘Justice League’ will hit theaters in November 2017
