Universal’s new TV spot for Jurassic World is filled with action, humor and heart-stopping terror: Everything we want from this summer’s dino romp!

Jurassic World hits cinemas on June 12, 2015, and Universal is obviously banking on the movie to be a smash hit, and re-launch Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park franchise for a new audience.

While the trailers, clips and promotional material hasn’t exactly installed confidence in the series’ fans, this latest TV spot brings it back to what Jurassic World is all about: A high-stakes dinosaur gore fest, with likeable characters and lots of laughs.

Chris Pratt stars in Jurassic World as Owen Grady, the down-to-earth wildlife expert who clashes with Bryce Dallas Howard’s modern scientist Claire Dearing.

“It’s like taking a stroll through the woods… 65 million years ago,” Pratt tells Howard in the TV spot, before everything goes to hell. Because of course, bringing dinosaurs back to life is one thing. Genetically engineering a brand new species, well, that was never going to end in rainbows.

The new monster is a giant dinosaur that resembles an overgrown T-Rex. The Indominus Rex is seen stalking the park’s inhabitants and visitors; we learn that the dinos are now communicating, and see how they all begin to bear down on the humans.

The spot finishes with the hint of a terrible ending for the film’s two token kids, but we’re guessing Pratt’s character will swoop in and save them at the last minute!

Jurassic World is directed by Colin Trevorrow and executively produced by Jurassic Park‘s original director Steven Spielberg. It premieres on June 12, 2015.
