The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom trailer debuted tonight on social media, and it will have dino-fans roaring in excitement.

Update: Executive producer Colin Trevorrow, who directed the first movie and co-wrote the script for Fallen Kingdom, has revealed on Twitter that everything from the trailer is from the first 57 minutes:

This should ease the minds of fans who worried that the action-packed trailer gave away all the big moments in the film’s third act! We haven’t seen anything yet.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the sequel to 2015’s blockbuster, record-breaking movie Jurassic World with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The pair are back on the island for the sequel and it looks like it’s going to be a thriller.

Original story: This week, fans of the movie franchise were delighted with daily teases up until the Thursday release of the trailer. Check out the very explosive and exciting trailer below!

Prior to the trailer, very little was known about the premise of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It’s pretty clear, based on the information we just received, that the mission for the team is to go back to the island to rescue the dinosaurs that remain.

It seems as though a volcano or serious seismic activity has formed below the island, with its eventual eruption threatening the life and existence of Isla Nublar as we know it. However, doing so is going to clearly displace the dinosaurs that have been roaming around the island since the park was destroyed during the events of the last movie.

Interestingly, the star of the last movie, the Indominous Rex, is nowhere to be found in this trailer. Fans will remember it met its demise in Jurassic World at the mouth of the Mesosaurus. However, it is understood that B.D. Wong’s character may have taken the dino DNA to recreate it, as he is the engineer who made the animal in the first place.

Fans of the original trilogy from the ’90s will be excited to see Jeff Goldblum return as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Though he only appears briefly in the trailer, it’s likely he will have a very exciting and nostalgic presence in the movie. Goldblum last appeared in Jurassic Park: The Lost World, where he starred alongside Julianne Moore on Isla Sorna.

Directed by J.A. Bayona with a script by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, Fallen Kingdom stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, B. D. Wong, James Cromwell, and Jeff Goldblum, and of course endless amounts of dinosaurs and teeth.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom roars into theaters June 22, 2018.
