Joining Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World 2 will be Justice Smith, who headlined Netflix’s most expensive show yet, The Get Down.

The Get Down made waves earlier this year for its high production value and giant soundtrack studded with original songs. Part of that hype is a result of Justice Smith, who played young Ezekiel, and absolutely killed it with his raw energy and emotion.

The Hollywood Reporter has now announced that Smith will be joining stars Pratt and Howard in the Jurassic World sequel.

Unfortunately, details about the plot of the sequel are being kept secret, so we don’t yet know what kind of role Smith will be playing in the film. Smith is 21 years old, so it keeps the tradition of having both a younger and older generation of heroes which all the previous Jurassic films have established.

Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow are writing the script, the latter of which directed the first Jurassic World. Taking over directing duties this time around will be J.A. Bayona.

The last we heard on the project was that World set up a new trilogy, so we can more than likely expect three films to come out of this reboot.

Given World’s success, no one should be surprised at the idea of additional films, and fans seem to be pumped to find out what’s next for our heroes.

Jurassic World managed to balance nostalgia with something new and left the ending open for more story, so now it’s just a matter of waiting. Filming begins in Spring 2017 in England.

‘Jurassic World 2’ will hit theaters on June 22, 2018
