A cleverly edited fan vid re-imagines Jurassic Park as a nature documentary, which we would most definitely watch in full.

Mashable has put together a fun trailer for the Jurassic Park nature documentary (mockumentary) that definitely needs to exist:

It’s like Disney’s Bears, Chimpanzee, and African Cats, introducing our main dinosaur “Littletail,” whom the documentary aims to follow.

This happy-go-lucky tale is set on “an incredible island where life finds a way,” and we follow Littletail from birth and on her journey to “discover the world.”

It’s a story of “being born, growing up, and surviving in a dangerous world.” But don’t worry — there may be struggle and uncertainty but there’s also love, joy, passion, and most importantly, life.

Meanwhile, in the real — er, fictional — world, Jurassic World 2 will pick up Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s stories, as the secret to creating dinosaurs goes “open source.”

In the sequel to the reboot, dinosaurs might be roaming free, with Colin Trevorrow wanting to explore the concept of dino destruction beyond the theme park confinement that has characterized the series so far.

“I feel like the idea that this isn’t always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment. And when you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and later on we found it could be used for energy,” Trevorrow told Wired last year.

Jurassic World 2 is set for 2018, but the real question is: When is Mashable’s dinosaur documentary coming out in full?! Because we would absolutely pay money to see that.
