“Welcome to Jurassic Park…. 3D.” The first trailer for the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park has hit the ‘net, and those dinos have never looked so good!

News of a 3D theatrical release had first surfaced in March. It follows in the success of other 3D re-releases like Disney’s The Lion King and Monsters, Inc.

Also today, a new poster was published that we quickly fell in love with and brings the memories of the magical land roaring back:

Originally released on June 11, 1993, the Steven Spielberg-directed film grossed $357 million in the United States and $577 million worldwide, bringing its grand total to an astounding $914 million. Come April, the film may be able to topple the $1 billion mark thanks to the high price of 3D film tickets and Jeep-loads of nostalgia-seeking fans.

Jurassic Park 3D opens in theaters April 5, 2013. Will you see the film or are you satisfied with your DVD/Blu-ray copies?

Meanwhile, Universal is currently at work on Jurassic Park 4. Rise of the Planet of the Apes screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have been hired to pen the project which will be produced by Steven Spielberg. It is expected to be released in 2014, and we’re sure Jurassic Park 3D will help gauge excitement for another film in the franchise.
