Dwayne Johnson is officially coming back for second helpings of Jumanji.

The action star who brought us Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle just this past December took to social media to let fans know when the next installment of the series would be hitting the big screen.

Johnson made the announcement via Instagram in the form of a short video featuring the signature drums that accompany the immersive board game that’s got a penchant for sucking its players into the dangerous depths of its jungle.

“The game is not over,” reads the bold text in the short teaser before revealing that the sequel will officially be hitting theaters on December 13, 2019.

Johnson paired the video announcement with a lengthy caption in which he thanked the fans for making Welcome to the Jungle a box office hit.

“Officially planting our JUMANJI flag. On December 13th 2019— the game is not over. I hold JUMANJI very close to my heart and I’m beyond grateful you made our movie into the global juggernaut ($1 BILLION+) it became,” wrote the star of this summer’s Skyscraper. “Can’t wait for you to see what our new adventure and new characters have in store as Christmas comes early. And once again, I get to slap [Kevin Hart’s] lips into next week. The world is happy.”

Johnson may have revealed that buddy and frequent co-star Kevin Hart will officially be returning for the sequel in his caption but he’s not the only one coming back for more.

Both Jack Black and Karen Gillan are set to return to reprise their roles as well. According to Variety, it’s also expected that Jake Kasdan will return to direct the upcoming sequel.

It sounds as though Johnson has managed to get the band back together for the sequel, and we’ll interested to see where he takes the story from here.
