Jumanji continues to make headlines, but at least this time it’s on less controversial footing as it expands its cast by four.

Jumanji stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. Now, four more names have been added to the list.

Ser’Darius Blain (Star Trek Into Darkness, Footloose) and Madison Iseman (Still the King, Henry Danger) were the first to join the cast of the Jumanji reboot, as initially reported by Deadline.

We don’t know anything about who Iseman will be playing, but Blain will take on the character of Anthony “Fridge” Johnson. Alex Wolff (The Naked Brothers Band, The Sitter) and Morgan Turner (Remember Me, Invincible) have also joined the cast, though their character names are currently unknown.

Johnson calls these newcomers “Jumanji Juniors,” and with rumors suggesting the four leads are actually avatars in a game, it stands to reason that perhaps these “Juniors” are the actual game players who have picked the others as their virtual tokens.

When we first got the Dr. Bravestone concept art, we weren’t sure what the “Bravestone/Spencer” text in the top righthand corner meant, but now it looks like perhaps Spencer could be the one playing Johnson’s character.

If that’s the case, it doesn’t look like the images above correspond with the four leading actors, as we know Blain’s character’s name is Anthony Johnson. In reality, Spencer could belong to any of the other three Juniors.

Johnson’s comment about their costumes doesn’t come without reason. When the picture first landed online, many were upset by Gillan’s costume in particular, which seems incredibly impractical for trekking through the jungle.

Both she and Johnson have defended the choice, saying there’s a reason why they’re dressed the way they are.

How do you think ‘Jumanji’ is shaping up so far?
