Julie Andrews is heading to the big screen in December but not in the way you might expect.

No, she won’t be reuniting with her Mary Poppins co-star Dick Van Dyke in the highly anticipated Mary Poppins Returns.

Instead, it looks as though Julie Andrews is gearing up to join the world of superheroes.

In a brand new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Aquaman producer Peter Safran revealed that Andrews has landed a voice role in the upcoming DC superhero solo flick.

Andrews will lend her voice to the character of Karathen in next month’s Aquaman— a character who is in fact a sea creature who sounds as though will be of much use to the titular superhero.

According to Safran, Karathen is a creature who can help Aquaman figure out a way to broker peace between the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and the world that exists above water.

In the interview with EW, Safran shed some light as to how Andrews came to be part of the DC cinematic universe.

“We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered,” said Safran in the interview according to Deadline. “And when we found out Julie [Andrews] was interested and available to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.”

We’ll be curious to hear how the filmmakers have altered Andrews’ incredibly recognizable voice in order to fit the underwater world in Aquaman when the movie hits theaters in just a few weeks!

DC’s Aquaman premieres on December 21.
