Hollywood A-lister Julia Roberts is heading to the small screen for the first time in an adaptation of the novel Today Will Be Different by Maria Semple.

Julia Roberts needs no introduction, but just in case you want to reminisce over her most popular roles, think back on such classic films as Notting Hill, Erin Brockovich, and Pretty Woman.

On Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Roberts will be starring in a limited series television adaptation of the book Today Will Be Different.

Aside from Roberts’ involvement, what’s also cool about this is the fact that the author will be writing the script for the show. Film and television adaptations are not rare these days, but having the author sign on to assist in creating the adaptation is, so this is definitely good news for fans of the books.

Amazon‘s description of the book is as follows:

A brilliant novel from the author of Where’d You Go, Bernadette, about a day in the life of Eleanor Flood, forced to abandon her small ambitions and awake to a strange, new future.

Eleanor knows she’s a mess. But today, she will tackle the little things. She will shower and get dressed. She will have her poetry and yoga lessons after dropping off her son, Timby. She won’t swear. She will initiate sex with her husband, Joe. But before she can put her modest plan into action-life happens. Today, it turns out, is the day Timby has decided to fake sick to weasel his way into his mother’s company. It’s also the day Joe has chosen to tell his office-but not Eleanor-that he’s on vacation. Just when it seems like things can’t go more awry, an encounter with a former colleague produces a graphic memoir whose dramatic tale threatens to reveal a buried family secret.

TODAY WILL BE DIFFERENT is a hilarious, heart-filled story about reinvention, sisterhood, and how sometimes it takes facing up to our former selves to truly begin living.

Semple is also working on an adaptation of her book Where’d You Go Bernadette with the same production company, Annapurna, working on Today Will Be Different, though Bernadette will be a feature film. It’s set to star Cate Blanchett with Richard Linklater as a director.
