Get ready to fall in love with Josh Hutcherson all over again! Hutcherson recently backed a campaign that will help underprivileged LGBTQ youth all across the United States.

Josh Hutcherson is no stranger to being an advocate for the LGBTQ community. In 2013 he did a photo for the NOH8 campaign and he’s always been vocal about his support for his LGBTQ fans and friends. Now he’s going a step further in partnering with Straight But Not Narrow, The Trevor Project and human-I-T.

The new campaign Hutcherson has helped back is called Power On, and it’s designed to help give LGBTQ youth who live in rural areas or live in low-income households a means to communicate with others in the LGBTQ community.

Starting now until Spirit Day on October 16, the foundations will be encouraging everyone to donate old laptops, tablets and smartphones so that they can be refurbished by human-I-T and distributed to LGBTQ resource centers all over the United States.

Power On will help ensure that teens and youth living in rural areas or in low-income households have a place to communicate with others online so they don’t feel alone. In a study by GLSEN, it was found that more than half of the LGBTQ youth who were not out to their friends or family personally used the Internet to find other LGBTQ people like them, and Power On will try to help those who don’t have access to technology.

Hutcherson also donated one of his computers to the program, stating, “I’m kicking off the Power On campaign by donating one of my old computers, and it’s awesome to know that it’ll be used to help a young person out there who, before this campaign, wasn’t able to get access to information and resources that could really help them. I’ve always respected the work that The Trevor Project does, and to have an opportunity for Straight But Not Narrow to collaborate with them on a campaign like Power On is exciting.”

If you’d like to donate your computer, tablet or smartphone to Power On, go ahead and visit http://human-i-t.org/ally/ for instructions on how to do so. With the new iPhone supposedly coming in September, now would be a perfect time to consider donating your old smartphone to Power On.

Thanks, EW!
