As the rumors surrounding who will be cast in Jurassic World continue to swirl, Josh Brolin and Idris Elba have entered the discussion.

Update: according to SlashFilm (link below), Elba’s publicist says the rumor is false.

Late Friday, Deadline reported that Universal Pictures is in hot persuit of Josh Brolin to lead Jurassic World, the fourth enstallment in the Jurassic Park franchise. While no official announcement has been made as of yet, it’s expected that a deal will get done. Brolin has been rumored to star for quite some time, and it would be surprising if negotiations go south and he turns down the offer.

Today, less substantial rumors are surfacing that suggest that Idris Elba could also be joining the cast. Cinemablend (via SlashFilm) has tracked down the path of this rumor. The rumor surfaced on Jurassic World Movie News, was picked up by Acting Auditions and then it got put on Wikipedia. Until something more substantial comes along this is of course just a rumor.

Recently, Jurassic World casting rumors have been gaining a lot of steam. Universal reportedly wants The Kings of Summer star Nick Robinson to play the older brother of officially cast Ty Simpkins, known recently as the kid from Iron Man 3. Bryce Dallas Howard was also rumored to star at one point. She was not officially confirmed, but the Deadline article that rumors Brolin’s casting confirmed it.
