Warner Bros. is continuing to make changes to the way they will handle upcoming DC films in an effort to avoid another Batman v Superman!

Recently, Warner Bros. signed Ben Affleck as an executive producer for Justice League to assist director Zack Snyder. Although it was indicated that it was in an effort to support Snyder, instead of insult him, it was clear that it was a move made in direct response to negative feedback of how Batman v Superman was handled.

Warner Bros. wasn’t done there, however, as it’s now being reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the studio is further shaking up how they will handle their DC films going forward. Now there will be a pair of executives that have oversight of the films as well as a new dedicated division for the films.

Warner Bros. vice president Jon Berg will serve alongside newly added Geoff Johns to run the DC films division. This is definitely a smart move by WB as Johns has proven his ability to translate comics to the screen with his work on television shows such as Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Johns will also continue to play a big part of DC comics, as he’s currently working on rebooting many published titles. Berg, meanwhile, was already working on upcoming films Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League so it’s not a big move for him.

It’s clear that Warner Bros. is taking its role in handling the DC films seriously. Hopefully, in addition to these changes in how things are run behind the scenes, they will also be sure to listen to what the fans want. After all, they won’t have box office hits if they lose the trust the DC fan base.

Are you glad to see Jon Berg and Geoff Johns will oversee DC films?
