Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance within Disneyland’s classic Pirates of the Carribbean ride on Thursday, and the videos are a blast to watch.
In what we assume is a promotional move for this summer’s Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Depp appeared live — dressed as Jack Sparrow — during one section of the ride in which rides pass through a village.
Several videos surfaced on Twitter Wednesday evening. An animatronic Johnny Depp / Jack Sparrow appears several times during the Pirates ride, so to see the real actor must’ve been a total shock:

It’s not yet clear what Johnny Depp was doing this for. Presumably there were professional cameras on scene to capture it for an upcoming Dead Men Tell No Tales promotional gig. This seems like something Jimmy Kimmel Live! would do, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it were for some sort of ~viral~ video Disney is planning on releasing on their own.
