Last week we reported that Wes Anderson was eyeing Johnny Depp, among others, for a role in his upcoming movie. Well it has now been confirmed that Depp will headline The Grand Budapest Hotel, which Anderson will write and direct.

Not much is known about the project, but as Deadline reports, the film will be produced by Anderson, mega-producer Scott Rudin, and Steven Rales of Indian Paintbrush.

In our interview with Wes Anderson, the director mentioned he was moving to Europe for his next film, as the title confirms.

Apart from Depp, who will star in the film, Anderson is also eyeing Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and Angela Lansbury to appear in the film.
