John Krasinski, best known for The Office and various rom-coms, might be lining up a main role in Michael Bay’s next action romp.

John Krasinski is more than just Jim Halpert, but as tends to be the case with Hollywood, the 35-year-old actor has often found himself playing similar roles.

But now it looks like Krasinski is lining up his first action movie since Jarhead: Variety reports that Michael Bay has cast him as one of the leads in his newest venture, 13 Hours.

The movie chronicles the real-life story of the attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya, which took place two years ago on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001.

Krasinski, who allegedly “blew Bay away” when reading for the film, will play one of the Navy SEALs at the forefront of the conflict. We are likely looking at several other prominent actors joining the ensemble cast, but none have yet been announced.

13 Hours is based on the book Thirteen Hours: A Firsthand Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff. Chuck Hogan (The Town, The Strain) has written the script, and the film will be produced by Erwin Stoff.
