With Looking for Alaska heading towards adaptation land, John Green reminds fans that he’s not in charge of casting. But if he was… well, it’d be one hell of a movie.

If the wildly successful The Fault in Our Stars movie is anything to go by, Paper Towns is going to be a hit.

With Cara Delevingne and Nat Wolff in the lead roles, fans have high hopes for the second John Green adaptation, set for release this summer.

Naturally, all eyes are now on Looking for Alaska, the third of Green’s YA novels (and incidentally his first published book) to get a big-screen makeover.

Fault and Paper Towns‘ screenwriting team Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are currently working on a script for Paramount, although a release date has not yet been set. Sarah Polley was previously set to write and direct, but whether she is still attached to the project is uncertain.

That doesn’t stop fans from hounding John Green on Twitter, demanding casting news and even requesting certain actors for key roles. Apparently it’s been happening a lot lately, since Green felt the need to remind his followers:

While Green (who also expressed a desire to see a person of color cast in the title role) isn’t a part of the casting process, he does offer one suggestion — which we actually kind of love:

What say you, Nerdfighters, would Looking for Alaska benefit from the Nutty Professor treatment?

Or, more seriously: who would you like to see cast in the next John Green movie adaptation?
