John Cho has officially booked his next television role!

According to The Wrap, Fox announced on Friday (July 7) that John Cho will officially be joining the cast of The Exorcist for season 2.

The series, which is based off of William Blatty’s 1971novel, and serves as a sequel to the iconic 1973 film of the same name, follows the story of two men tasked with tackling a family’s case of demonic possession.

When Cho boards the cast, he’ll portray a character named Andrew Kim, a former child psychologist who runs a foster home located on a private island off the coast of Seattle, Washington.

Andrew comes into play when one of the children under his watch ends up succumbing to a dangerous force. It’s then that Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) get involved in an effort to save the child from the dark and sinister forces afoot.

It definitely sounds like Cho’s Andrew Kim will have a significant arc in the upcoming season and we can’t wait to see what unfolds when he eventually gets introduced.

These days, Cho is pretty busy bringing Sulu to life on the big screen as part of the Star Trek franchise. Even so, the talented actor has been featured in quite a few television series over the past few years.

Most recently, Cho starred in the adorable, yet sadly short lived ABC comedy, Selfie. Additionally, Cho was also featured in a recurring role on Fox’s Sleep Hollow.

Given that Fox recently announced plans to pull the plug on Sleepy Hollow, it’s nice to see Cho is sticking with the Fox family and boarding another supernatural series!

The hit horror drama is set to return for season 2 on Friday, September 29 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
