Michael Rooker, the massive fan-favorite of The Walking Dead series has also signed on to play Yondu in Marvel’s space-thriller. Rounding out the cast recently is Lee Pace, who will reportedly play the film’s villain. It’s been rumored that Del Toro may be playing Thanos, as he is known for his menacing roles in the past.

Guardians of the Galaxy follows a futuristic, alien superhero team protecting the galaxy from evil, led by Peter Quill. The team first appeared in Marvel comics in 1969, but weren’t given their own series until the 1990s.
