John Boyega and Letitia Wright are set to star in a big screen adaptation of Katie Khan’s sci-fi novel Hold Back the Stars.

Actors John Boyega and Letitia Wright’s careers are booming right now. With Boyega starring as beloved character Finn in the new Star Wars movies and Wright playing the super-smart Shuri in the MCU, their careers are on the fast track to total stardom.

So it is no wonder when it came time to cast the leads for the big screen adaptation of Katie Khan’s science fiction novel Hold Back the Stars that Boyega and Wright were scooped up to headline the flick. For those unfamiliar with Khan’s book, it is being called a cross between Romeo & Juliet and Gravity, with a little bit of tragic romance, and a little bit of impending space doom.

The story takes place in the future where much of the world has been destroyed thanks to war, and Europe becomes a utopian society for humanity. It is here that Max and Carys meet and fall in love, and realize they want to spend their lives together, though it would be impossible in this new society.

After a freak accident leaves the two adrift in the vast void of space, the two are left to reminisce on their romance together and the world they left behind as their 90-minute supply of oxygen slowly dwindles away. It’s a tragically beautiful tale and one that we can’t wait to see Boyega and Wright bring to life.

Though this movie doesn’t have a studio home just yet, Deadline is reporting that Hold Back the Stars is expected to sell quickly. And with two powerhouse leads like Wright and Boyega, we have to agree.
