Pan, the upcoming Warner Bros. Peter Pan movie, may have found its director.

Deadline is reporting that Joe Wright is nearing a deal to direct Pan, Warner Bros’ upcoming Peter Pan movie.

At the current time, not too much is known about Pan. The script has been written by Jason Fuchs and the film will be produced by Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions.

The Peter Pan story has been told countless times, so it’s a relief to see a talented director like Wright at the helm. Wright is perhaps best known for directing Pride and Prejudice, the Keira Knightley starred adaptation of the Jane Austen novel of the same name. Wright also directed Knightley in Anna Karenina, which was released last year, and Atonement. He also has directed The Soloist and Hanna.

For those who were born and immediately became an adult, here’s a quick refresher of the classic tale: Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish writer J. M. Barrie. He lives in Neverland, can fly, and never ages. Peter Pan is perhaps best known for his rivalry with the equally famous Captain Hook, and his sword battles with Hook are a good example of just how powerful he is – there’s almost nothing he can’t do.

Is Joe Wright a good choice to direct ‘Pan’?
