Doctor Who?! That’s right, Jodie Whittaker and many of her cast mates are officially returning for series 12.

As the first female Doctor’s turn in the TARDIS is coming to a close, the BBC has officially announced that she will be returning for the next series of Doctor Who. Along with Whittaker, Bradley Walsh (Graham), Mandip Gill (Yasmin), and Tosin Cole (Ryan) will also be reprising their roles.

Showrunner Chris Chibnall commented on the news, saying, “We’re off again! Well we never actually stopped — as Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor and friends have been winning the hearts of families across the nation this autumn, we’ve been busy with a whole new set of action packed adventures for the Thirteenth Doctor. We adore making this show and have been blown away by the response from audiences, so we can’t wait to bring more scares, more monsters and more Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole to BBC One. Brilliant!”

Series 12 will premiere on BBC One in 2020, which seems way too far away, but luckily, BBC One Director of Content, Charlotte Moore, added to the excitement by saying, “In the meantime we’ve got a very special episode on New Year’s Day for everyone to enjoy.” We can’t wait!
