Another interview has been scheduled for The Casual Vacancy author J.K. Rowling in anticipation of her book’s September 27 release. This one involves James Runcie, who created the wonderful J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life documentary.

BBC2’s Culture Show will air Writing for Grown-Ups: A Culture Show Special on September 26 at 10 p.m. GMT. The special naturally covers her new book, and the title seems to imply that there will be emphasis on the differences in writing for children versus adults. Runcie’s involvement with a Rowling special was first speculated after his cryptic tweet a month ago.

Where else will Rowling be to promote The Casual Vacancy? She has a single interview in Australia, several United States television appearances, a public New York City event, and a reading, signing, and Q&A on release day at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. She’ll also be at the Cheltenham Literature Festival to discuss and sign copies.

We’ll be closely following all of these television appearances and report back with any new information or video.

Runcie’s J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life debuted on British television in 2009 and followed the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. We saw crucial moments in the book’s writing such as when Rowling leaned back in her chair and declared the story finished. Rowling famously said at the time, “Some people will loathe it. They’ll absolutely loathe it but the thing is that’s as it should be because for some people to love it others must loathe it. That’s just in the nature of the plot; some people won’t be happy because what they wanted to happen hasn’t happened.”
