In a new interview with legendary interviewer Charlie Rose set to air tonight on PBS, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling jumps back to her seven-book series to discuss moving on from the boy wizard and reveals which character she misses most “beyond any character.”

Her answer was confidently Dumbledore. “The one I miss the most, beyond any character, is Dumbledore. He was a strange character because I always say I wrote him from somewhere in the back of my brain. He would often say things I didn’t know I believed. But once I saw that Dumbledore had said them, I thought, “Oh yeah that’s right, that’s true.”

This interview caps off a week of United States appearances Rowling had done while visiting New York City. She appeared on CBS This Morning (which Rose also hosts), The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and hosted a live Q&A and signing for fans at the David H. Koch theater at Lincoln Center. As of today, The Casual Vacancy has sold 1 million copies in the English language.
