Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts writer J.K. Rowling released a mysterious tweet about her forthcoming trilogy on Twitter after a little encouragement from a fan.

It all started Sunday afternoon when Rowling explained why she’s been silent on Twitter recently:

Naturally, this led people to wonder what Rowling is writing. While “working on a novel” could mean any number of things including another Cormoran Strike book, “tweaking a screenplay” may suggest she’s nearing completion on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Minutes later Rowling replied to one of her followers (as she’s come to do lately):

And then the following morning Rowling dropped her clue:

So what can we pull out of this clue? For starters, it doesn’t appear to be an anagram like Rowling teased the night before.

Edit: As readers are pointing out, it certainly may be an anagram, though a number of anagram solvers we tried weren’t able to solve it (thanks to the numerous words Rowling has invented).

Edit 2: Our wonderful readers have spent the day coming up with some very interesting anagram solutions. Hit the comments to see some of them, and check back on Tuesday as we round them all up in a new article!

Obviously the mention of a “wand” suggests that this is Wizarding World related, and considering she has a new film series in the works, it’s probably something connected to Fantastic Beasts.

The “foe” could refer to a magical creature that Newt Scamander, Fantastic Beasts’ main character, is facing off against.

The strangest part of this clue is “Fa awry” – maybe his accent is the reason “fa” is missing a letter or two?

One could think that this is just a line from the Fantastic Beasts script, but she did say it’s something for us to “ponder.”

No matter what, this is the best riddle Rowling has dropped since the early clues about the existence of Pottermore.

You know what this really makes us miss?

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits theaters November 18, 2016.
