A date has been set for J.K. Rowling’s appearance on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart where the author will promote The Casual Vacancy.

The interview will air Monday, October 15 – just one day before her live event with fans at Lincoln Center. We presume it’ll be taped the same day. Hypable gave away tickets to her fan event last week.

The Daily Show airs on Comedy Central at 11:00 PM ET/PT. Stewart is a big Harry Potter fan and always has fun with his guests. This is Rowling’s first appearance on a comedy program in many years. In fact, this may be one of the only times she’s appeared on this type of show.

Our Casual Vacancy Hub has been keeping track of the various events Rowling is holding to promote her new book. Besides her Comedy Central and Lincoln Center appearances, all she has left is an Edinburgh book festival in November.

Then, we hope, she’ll be on to finishing her next book! Rowling’s made clear in recent interviews that she’s almost certain that her next book will be a children’s story (for 7 to 8 year olds).

Hypable staff will be at the Lincoln Center event on Tuesday and will be covering everything the author has to say! We’ll be sure to tune into The Daily Show as well in hopes of a couple nuggets. Thanks to Ryan for the tip.
