On last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late night talk show host poked fun at Los Angeles new stations covering this weekend’s big storm.

The Los Angeles area is in the midst of dealing with two weather systems now through Saturday (which are also heading towards the east coast to create problems there). The timing of the storms couldn’t be worse because Southern California is hosting the Spirit Awards in Santa Monica and Academy Awards in Hollywood this weekend.

Jimmy Kimmel rounded up the local news weather reports and put them together in one super cut, demonstrating how Los Angeles news reporters take even the slightest hint of a storm very seriously. He also showed how everyone likes to use certain words to describe how bad Southern California needs the rainfall.

Kimmel’s show frequently creates super cuts in which he mocks Los Angeles reporters who hype up storms no matter how small they may be. The area is frequently known for overreacting to storm systems because its residents are used to sunny skies and dry conditions for most of the year.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 11:30 p.m. on ABC.
