This role will be quite the departure from Parson’s most notable role as the affable nerd, Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory. Though Parsons is iconic as Sheldon Cooper, he’s got a pretty impressive resume outside of the show with roles in projects like Hidden Figures and The Normal Heart, and is currently set to star on Broadway in the revival of The Boys in the Band alongside Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, and Andrew Rannells Parsons. We can’t wait to see him on the big screen as one of the people who sent Ted Bundy to prison.

Parsons will be joining a pretty incredible cast on this film. In addition to Zac Efron, the film also stars John Malkovich, Lily Collins, and Jeffrey Donovan.

For those unfamiliar with the serial killer’s story, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will not only focus on Bundy’s horrific crimes and his ultimate conviction, but it will also tell the story of how he was caught in an everyday traffic stop. The film will be from the perspective of Bundy’s longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to acknowledge the truth about her boyfriend.

Zac Efron has been posting a few pictures of himself as the infamous killer to his Instagram, so we’ve gotten a sneak peek into his ’70s look and how frighteningly well he’s managed to embody the killer.

The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but with a cast like this, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile will be a fascinating true crime film.
