There’ll be a new face amongst returning cast members in the upcoming Mamma Mia sequel, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!.

Variety reports that Broadway star Jessica Keenan Wynn has officially joined the cast of upcoming musical sequel, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!

Keenan Wynn will join returning cast members Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried, and Christina Baranski, all of whom have signed on to reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.

Not much was known about the sequel when we first reported that it was officially in the works back in May, but the casting of Wynn brings with it a bit more information as to what the plot of the new film will entail.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is set to center around the relationships of the core characters of the original movie. The sequel will jump from the past to the present as it shows how the bonds between all of our favorites were forged, and how they’ve progressed over the years.

For her part, Kennan Wynn has been tapped to play a young Tanya (Baranski) in the upcoming film. For those who need a bit of a refresher, Tanya is one of Donna’s (Streep) former bandmates who also happens to be a rich three-time divorcee.

Now that Keenan Wynn’s role has been revealed, we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before we find out which other actresses casting directors have brought on board to play younger versions of the rest of the Mamma Mia gang.

Though Keenan Wynn is fairly new to the big screen, she’s got quite a bit of musical theater experience under her belt. The theater star is best known for portraying songwriter Cynthia Weil in the Broadway production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical from 2015 to 2017.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is set to open in theaters on July 20, 2018.
