Actress Jessica De Gouw talks her new work on Dracula, working with the legendary Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and what this means for her character on Arrow.

Earlier this month, we got our first look at Jessica De Gouw as her character Mina in the trailer for Dracula. Now the actress reveals she was intimated at first when taking the role. All because of the shows star Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

De Gouw tells The West Australian about the first time she met the actor, “I remember when I first met him at the chemistry read. I was so intimidated because I have so much respect for him as an actor.”

It didn’t stay that way for long, the actress reveals. She soon got over her nerves and settled into a friendship with her co-star. “It was so funny how quickly that went from ‘Oh that’s Jonathan Rhys Meyers,’ to ‘That’s my Jonny,'” De Gow says. “He is the sweetest man, and I think he’s one of the actors I’ve learnt the most from. He keeps me on my toes.”

Good thing they warmed up quickly to one another because, judging by the trailer, they will have plenty of steamy moments to film ahead of them!

Sadly, for Arrow fans it looks like her role in Dracula will be keeping her away from the CW show. According to De Guow, she isn’t sure if she’ll have time to make an appearance on Arrow because she’s still shooting for Dracula.

The loss hasn’t gone unnoticed by the actress who says, “It wasn’t hard going to work, Stephen was such a dreamboat, he’s so lovely. It wasn’t really a challenge to be romantically minded with him, he’s the sweetest man and he does have abs of steel.”
