Two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain has joined the star-studded cast of The Huntsman, which is a spinoff of Snow White and the Huntsman with Chris Hemsworth.

Jessica Chastain will be starring opposite Thor actor Chris Hemsworth in The Huntsman, which also stars Into the Woods’ Emily Blunt as the film’s villain.

The Wrap reports that Chastain’s role is not yet known, but the sequel will expand the universe established in the first film, which starred Kristen Stewart as Snow White. Stewart won’t be returning for the sequel/spinoff, but Hemsworth will continue as the Huntsman.

Charlize Theron will also return as the evil queen, although we don’t know what form she’ll be taking in the film just yet. Nick Frost, who played a dwarf, will also be returning, with a few of the other actors who played dwarves reprising their roles.

While we don’t know what specific role Jessica Chastain will be playing, it’s being reported that she will be Chris Hemsworth’s love interest, as we know his wife had died prior to the first film’s storyline.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who received an Oscar nomination for his Visual Effects work on Snow White and the Huntsman will be back, but this time he’ll be in the directing chair. This will be his directorial debut, and we look forward to finding out what direction this film’s story takes now that Snow White is no longer involved.
