Jennifer Lawrence is apparently ready to move on from the X-Men universe, and she says X-Men: Apocalypse will be the last time that she dons the blue suit as the lethal mutant Mystique.

X-Men: First Class had the incredible privilege of having Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James Mcavoy, and Nicholas Hoult as some of its young mutants, but after three films, it’s not too surprising to see that Jennifer Lawrence thinks it’s time to move on.

Her plate is just too full most likely, and with her contract ending with Fox, she’s mostly looking to move on to spending less time on franchise films, despite the fact that X-Men and The Hunger Games is what made her a massive household name. She’s appreciative though, and knows that without them, we would have probably never seen her in American Hustle or Silver Linings Playbook.

While speaking with MTV news about X-Men: Apocalypse (which starts filming in a few months), The Hunger Games’ actress revealed, “It is my last one, actually.” We’re definitely sad to see Jennifer Lawrence leaving the X-Men franchise, but it was only a matter of time before she excited the franchise.

Apocalypse will reportedly go much deeper into the relationship that she and Beast have together, which means she’ll most likely end up with a very large role in Bryan Singers film, which he says will be a massively epic X-Men movie.

Unlike many of her co-stars, she’s been on the franchise train for too long now, and she probably wants to focus on some smaller films in the future. She’s done an incredible job as Mystique, and we look forward to seeing her performance in X-Men: Apocalypse, which will be released May 27, 2016.
